In our fast-paced world, it's easy to get caught up in the rush of everyday life. We're constantly on the go, rushing from one task to another, taking kids from one place to the next, trying to squeeze as much as we can into each day. But what if we told you that by slowing down and eliminating hurry, you could actually be more productive, happier, and healthier?

We are all about helping busy couples stay happily married for life, as a result, we're excited to share some tips and tricks for eliminating hurry from your life. So sit back, relax, and let's dive in!

First things first, let's define what we mean by hurry. Hurry is a state of mind that's characterized by a sense of urgency, anxiety, and stress. When we're in a hurry, we're constantly rushing to get things done, feeling like we don't have enough time to do everything we need to do. My mom used to say, " You are running around like a chicken with it's head cut off." Just let that image sink in for a minute!

So why is it important to eliminate hurry from our lives? Well, for starters, hurry can be detrimental to our health. When we're constantly stressed and anxious, our bodies release cortisol, a hormone that can have negative effects on our immune system, blood pressure, and even our memory. On more than one occasion, I have to say to Jay, " Just stop and think for a minute."

Additionally, when we're in a hurry, we're more likely to make mistakes, overlook important details, and miss out on opportunities. By slowing down and taking our time, we're able to be more present in the moment, focus on what's important, and make better decisions.

So how can we eliminate hurry from our lives? Here are a few tips:

  1. Set realistic expectations: One of the main reasons we get caught up in hurry is because we try to do too much in too little time. Instead of setting unrealistic expectations for ourselves, we should focus on setting achievable goals that align with our values and priorities. This is why our coaching program is so effective! We take couples through a process that allows them to say the two most important words in the English language: yes and no. Coaching

  2.  Simplify your schedule: If your schedule is jam-packed with back-to-back meetings, appointments, and tasks, it's no wonder you're feeling rushed and stressed. Simplify your schedule by prioritizing the most important tasks and saying no to anything that's not essential. It is a fact that when you say yes to one thing you are saying no to something else.

  3. Take breaks: It's important to take breaks throughout the day to rest and recharge. Whether it's a quick walk outside or a cup of tea, taking breaks can help you be more productive and focused when you return to your tasks. I often walk to the mailbox to take a break in the day. It isn't a long walk but it is a break in the fresh air!

  4. Practice gratitude: When we're in a hurry, it's easy to focus on the things we don't have or the things we need to do. By practicing gratitude and focusing on the things we're thankful for, we can shift our mindset and reduce our stress levels.

We hope these tips help you eliminate hurry from your life and experience more peace, joy, and fulfillment. Remember, it's not about doing more, it's about doing what's most important and being present in the moment.
